The only side-effect I've noticed is that when you look at the Playback->Title menu, "Title 3" doesn't show a duration, but I guess that would be expected if it's just unplayable garbage. I have no idea if that is a valid fix, and I haven't had a chance to watch the whole DVD yet, but I did scan through it a bit and it seems to be working normally. When I hacked in a little fix to break out of dvdnav_describe_title_chapters() if it encountered cell = 0, the DVD loaded without crashing. Is setting cell = 0 on the first iteration through the loop (subsequent iterations also set it to apparently bogus addresses, but none so obviously bogus as null). VLC is een gratis en open source cross-platform multimediaspeler en -framework dat de meeste multimediabestanden en ook dvds, audio-cds, vcds en verschilllende streaming-protocols afspeelt. I don't know anything about DVD data formats, so I don't know what any of this means, but I tracked it down to the processing of "Title 3", which seems to be sending bad "cell" data to dvdnav_describe_title_chapters(). The crash happens in the dvdnav_describe_title_chapters() method of libdvdnav (I have version 4.2.0). While the freedom of advanced options and customization is welcomed, the advanced configurations could lead to an accidental maladjustment in the program. This application has more settings and options than most programs of its kind. If anyone has suggestions, or knows what settings everything should be at for it to work, I thank you in advance.I just encountered this crash problem with the Brave DVD using vlc 2.0.3 on Ubuntu Precise. The VLC media player is capable of playing most media formats. Theyre all files that Ive created myself, but they all work perfectly fine in VLC 2.2.4 and 2.2.6. Suppose VLC keeps crashing or causing massive stutters and. Let us take a look at how to fix these issues. Some issues include corrupted files, pre-loaded MKV files, and outdated VLC media player. Never runs for more than a minute or two before crashing. If your VLC player is crashing every time you load a particular video, then there are several reasons for this issue. It would be really useful if someone could help with this, because I even went as far as checking if it’s something to do with the USB hub controllers switching it off, and having turned the setting to turn off to save power still didn’t work. Totally repeatable on dozens of different H.265 files. I’ll need to double check if it works with that, but I don’t see it working.

I have checked the settings of the players I’ve tried MPC-HC, and windows media (doesn’t play DVDs apparently) and Films and TV app. If you’re wandering, I have looked around the graphics settings, and they look fine to me. It’s a few years old and worked fine until I got my new PC No those files do not have the ‘chapters’ in them (could be why)ĬPU: Intel Core i5 4400U with integrated graphics Run VLC and insert your Blu-ray disc into the Blu-ray drive, and open it with VLC, then your encrypted Blu-ray movie will start playing in VLC.

It only occurres with the external DVD, I can watch any other files from anywhere including flash drives. Mac OS: right-click on VLC, choose 'Show Package Contents' and put the 'libaacs.dylib' file in ' Contents/MacOS/lib/ ' (create it if it does not exist). Only occurres on my laptop, not main gaming PC. I’ve looked into the problem a lot and here is what I have concluded: I noticed that sometimes it happens exactly on the change of a chapter, but it can happen any other time too, usually at least 2 minutes of watch time.

So this problem only ever occurres on my laptop, which I find strange, but at some point something went wrong and every time I want to watch a DVD the programs crash after a few minutes.
